AboitizPower grants P10M 5-year scholarships for engineering students

In line with the Provincial Government of Bataan’s effort to strengthen educational opportunities for the youth, Gov. Jose Enrique S. Garcia III, together with Vice Governor Cris Garcia signed a 5-Year Scholarship Program Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with AboitizPower subsidiaries GNPower Mariveles Energy Center (GMEC) and GNPower Dinginin Ltd. Co. (GNPD) led by AboitizPower President and CEO Danel Aboitiz on April 25, 2025.

Said program aims to provide a P10-million scholarship grant to 200 engineering students from Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU) and Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) Mariveles for five (5) years.

In his speech, Gov. Joet Garcia marked this partnership as a testament to the province’s unwavering long-standing commitment to empowering the education sector—a vision that started since 2004 through the creation of Iskolar ng Bataan by the late Gov. Tet Garcia. Gov. Joet Garcia expressed his gratitude to AboitizPower for their continued partnership with the Provincial Government of Bataan in advancing development and sustainability programs. Also present at the said event are Mariveles Mayor Ace Jello Concepcion, INB Program Coordinator Ramon Cañas, and representatives of the Provincial Government of Bataan.
